The Passau University Library endeavours to enable people with disabilities to use its holdings and services as independently as possible. Due to structural conditions, however, not all areas are wheelchair-accessible. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact the counter staff in the relevant reading room.
The University Library offers the following services relating to accessibility and healthy working:
Users with disabilities or other, even temporary, impairments can have a special pass issued for certain groups of people. This enables a six-week loan of reading room stock.
A corresponding reader is available in the scan box of the Central Library (reading room level). It enables, for example, the enlarged display of documents or voice output. These and other functions can be viewed in videos of the manufacturer Optelec.
Instruction by library staff is required before using the reader for the first time. Please contact the circulation desk at the Central Library.
If you would like to study standing up, there are raised tables at several locations in the central library:
In addition, all five reading rooms have standing desk converters that can be borrowed and used to transform any reading room seat into a standing workstation.
Contact us if you need a particularly low-stimulus working environment due to a medical condition. We will be happy to take the time to find a customised solution.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding accessibility and healthy working in the University Library, please contact Mr Michael Lemke.
